This is free help for the new couple, and it allows others to be included and made to feel special too. The maid of honor and best man know what their responsibilities are but there are other wedding jobs for friends that aren’t part of the wedding party.

Along with the usual guest book attendant, bird seed bag attendants and car decorating jobs you will have other needs. Especially if you are planning your own wedding there are a few key things you will want to make sure someone else is taking care of.

If there are going to be elderly or handicapped guests you may want to have someone in the parking lot to make sure these special guests are able to park closest to the door or have your attendant park the car for them, especially if the weather is bad. For that same group it would be appreciated if your attendant were to offer and bring them a drink. Move people inside quickly by helping guests get seated by an escort who points the way to the restrooms, drink and smoking areas.

Wedding Industry Jobs

Wednesday, November 9th, 2011

More and more people are watching celebrity and reality weddings on television, wanting to become a part of it all. And you can-there are many jobs associated with the wedding industry, and here are some tips on how to get one.

1) The first tip when looking for wedding industry jobs is to find your strength. What area of the wedding industry do you fit in? There are wedding planners, dress and tux retailers, photographs, florists, caterers, wedding blog writers, cake decorators, Ministers and Rabbis, travel agents that specialize in honeymoons, etc. What are you interested in, and what talents can you contribute?

2) Next, look online for wedding industry jobs. There are job boards set up specifically for this-sites like findaweddingjob.com. These sites are great for narrowing down the jobs in your area and in your specialty.

3) Consider an internship. There are many wedding industry jobs that have internships. These internships are an excellent way to get your foot in the door when you do not have the experience necessary to secure an entry level job, or before you go out on your own, with your own business. Keep in mind that internships are typically unpaid positions, but are usually over short periods of time, so if you can take a few months off from a regular paycheck, this may be the way to get into the industry.

4) Another great way to apply for wedding industry jobs is to make a contact within the industry, preferably the area you wish to work in (for example, Wedding Planning Guide or florist) and find out if they are hiring or know of someone who is.

5) If you wish you to start your own wedding industry business, do your homework. Make sure you research whether or not your area can support another Online Wedding Planner, caterer, florist, etc. If the market is saturated, you may not make any money, but if there is a need in your area, you could be a hit!

6) If you want to be a writer, this Wedding Resources Requirement are hard to come by, but a good way to apply for one is to offer to write for free, at first. Contribute some free articles to wedding blogs; contact your local newspaper to see if they might let you write a freelance article about an upcoming wedding.

7) When Searching for Wedding Planning Guide, search the web by keywords. Google the area of the Wedding Directories you want to work in, and see what comes up.

8) Job boards like Craigslist are a good place to look for freelance local jobs. If you can find one of these, you may need to offer examples of your work in order to apply. Do not panic if you don’t have experience; simply talk up your qualifications and passion for the job.

9) If you want to apply for wedding industry jobs, have a portfolio of relevant pictures, articles, or designs that prospective clients or employers may want to see. Take pictures of cakes you have decorated or flowers you have arranged.

10) And finally, when applying for wedding industry jobs, be clear about your enthusiasm for the industry! Clients and employers want outgoing people to work on their weddings!

Wedding Jobs For Friends

When most people think of a wedding, the things that
they think about are the bride and groom, of course,
the wedding party, the flowers and the wedding
reception.

But there is a lot more to a wedding than that, and
this is how others can be involved if the wedding
party has been filled.

Guest Book Attendant

- This is one of the jobs that can be offered to a
friend who wasn’t included in the wedding party but
still wants to help. This person will encourage the
guests to sign the book and leave a message for the
couple if they wish. It may seem like a small job, but
it’s important.

Bird Seed Bag Attendants

- Another job that is available to friends of the
bride and groom is to give everyone bags of bird seed
after the ceremony. This can be done by one or two
people, depending on how many people are attending the
wedding.

Scripture readings

- If the bride and groom are having a ceremony that
includes a lot of scripture readings, this is another
nice touch to the ceremony, and can make your friends
feel like a special part of your day.
